NYC residents can get 2026 World Cup tickets for just $50 via a NYC lottery put on by the Office of the NYC Mayor.
A new lottery is opening for residents of all five boroughs with 1,000 tickets total: ~150 per game at MetLife Stadium (every game except the final).
Tickets include free bus transportation to and from the event, and seats will be in the Upper Bowl.
The lottery opens May 25th at 10am and closes May 30 at 5pm.
Who can enter?
These tickets are only available to current New York City residents 15 years of age or older.
When is the registration period?
The lottery opens on May 25th at 10AM ET, and runs for six days. 50,000 people can enter per day. Once there are 50,000 entries, the lottery will close until the next day at 10AM ET.
How many times can a person enter?
Each eligible person may enter once per day. So, the most times one person can enter is 6.
When will winners be notified?
Randomly selected New Yorkers will be notified on June 3rd via the email they entered with — so mark your calendar and check your spam folder! Each winner will have 48 hours to purchase up to two $50 tickets.
What else do I need to know?
Those buying tickets may be asked to verify their identity and residency through official IDs, pay stubs, school transcripts, rental or mortgage agreements, or recent utility bills. They will pick up their tickets in person on match day before boarding a free round trip bus to MetLife! Tickets are non-transferable, with no exceptions.
What if I’m under 18?
Please provide us with the contact information for your parent or guardian while entering.
If I require ADA accommodations, can I still get a ticket?
Yes!
