David N. Dinkins Municipal Building Public Tours
The tallest tower of the David N. Dinkins Municipal Building will be opened for entirely free public tours for the first time this summer. Beginning in June, the public will be able to book tours led by DCAS staff through an online portal, with groups of six people departing from the NYC CityStore in the base of the building.
This access is enabled by a $6 million improvement project on the building, including repairing the building’s historic cupola, installing glass barriers to ensure visitors can safely enjoy the panoramic views of the city, and renovating the rotunda landing to make it safe and inviting to the public.
Mayor Mamdani made the announcement on the second day of Black History Month, in honor of the city’s first Black mayor. The David N. Dinkins Municipal Building is one of the largest government office buildings in the world.
“For the first time ever, New Yorkers and visitors alike will experience the sweeping views of the city’s skyline perched atop the pinnacle of our city’s government operations, 1 Centre Street," said DCAS Commissioner Yume Kitasei. “Upon its completion, this project will increase public access to an iconic landmark and create new ways to experience New York City and preserve our historical building's infrastructure for future generations.”
The David N. Dinkins Municipal Building is home to over 2,000 employees. The building was made a New York City landmark in 1966, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972, and renamed after Mayor David N. Dinkins in 2015.

On June 2, for the first time, Italy's Festa della Repubblica won't be celebrated just inside the walls of the consulates or embassies. Ciao Day is bringing it to Madison Square Park — a free, open-to-everyone Italian afternoon in the middle of the city, noon to 4pm, designed for New Yorkers. The park that already feels a little like a food Italian district, with Eataly right there on the corner, felt like the only right place.
There will be plenty of gelato from Sammontana, tricolor café tables, lemons and patterned linens, a southern Italian brass band, caricature artists, Italian storytime for kids, and a Mercato Italiano with free samples from Eataly, Rosetta Bakery, Ferrarini, and Café Carmellini.
June 2 will also be the first time New Yorkers can taste Sammontana's novelties — eleven new products (gelato bars, sandwiches, cones), all made in Italy, the only authentic Italian gelato in American freezers. First taste, in the park, on the day Italy celebrates itself.

SYNOPSIS
Twenty-six years after outrunning a suspiciously familiar masked killer (“Ghostface”), the Core Four are back in the killer’s crosshairs and no horror movie IP is safe. Marlon Wayans (“Shorty”), Shawn Wayans (“Ray”), Anna Faris (“Cindy”), and Regina Hall (“Brenda”) reunite in Scary Movie alongside returning favorites and fresh faces to slash through reboots, remakes, requels, prequels, sequels, spin-offs, elevated horror, origin stories, anything with the word legacy in it, and every “final chapter” that absolutely isn’t final. Nothing is sacred. No trope survives. Every line gets crossed. The Wayans are back to cancel the Cancel Culture. SCARY MOVIE IS ONLY IN THEATRES ON JUNE 5, 2026!
