THE IMAGINARY INVALID: Molière's Comedy-Ballet in Prospect Park
Molière in the Park returns to LeFrak Center at Lakeside, Prospect Park with their most ambitious FREE production yet!
Do not miss the world premiere of a new translation of Molière's THE IMAGINARY INVALID, featuring live original music and choreography and starring Tony and Olivier Award nominee Sahr Ngaujah! Produced by Molière in the Park in partnership with Prospect Park Alliance.
The Imaginary Invalid is the last play that legendary French playwright Molière wrote and was originally conceived as a Comedy-Ballet where theater, dance, and music are intertwined. Gravely ill while writing and performing this play, Molière explores the fear of disease and the exploitation it breeds through his infinitely humorous dialogue and in-your-face satire.
Molière in the Park (MIP) is a nonprofit theater company that has been bringing free world class theater to Central Brooklyn since 2019. We have brought updated versions of Molière's comedies, often alongside new local playwrights' works, to many beloved Brooklyn venues including Prospect Park's LeFrak Center, Brooklyn Public Library, BRIC and others. The mission of MIP is to foster empathy and unity within the diverse communities in Brooklyn through the arts.

Shopify Known to Few Experience
Shopify and Known to Few are bringing you more than just a pop-up, they are curating NYC’s exclusive closets for you. No mass production. No bland trends. Just unique pieces that hit hard. A DJ will be providing the vibes and Mimosa’s + Beers will be flowing to keep you feeling right.
They’ll also have an in-store repair shop to mend, up-cycle, and elevate your personal items, as well as a clothing drive where you can drop off gently used or new items.
Repair Shop Details: As part of the shopping experience, we'll be offering complimentary mending service for guests. To participate, bring in an item of clothing that could use a repair. Think, pants that you've needed hemmed or an old sweater that needs a patch job. Our on-site tailor will be able to make a quick assessment, and let you know if the repair is possible.
*The tailor kindly reserves the right to decline any repairs after assessment.
Clothing Drop Details: While you're shopping, chatting, and sipping something bubbly, we’re inviting everyone to take part in a small act of love. We’re collecting gently used men’s and women’s clothing and unopened beauty products to donate to New Alternatives for Children (NAC), an amazing NYC-based organization that supports children with special healthcare needs and their families. All donations stay local—directly supporting NAC’s mission and going into the hands of those who need them most.
