On Friday (4/24), Rothy’s and MET- and MoMA-collected artist Willie Cole will transform Flatiron Plaza into a live public art installation built from 2,500 donated plastic water bottles.

Thesculpture will be assembled in real time by New Yorkers, turning everyday waste into a collective work of art.

The installation is free and open to the public: bring a single-use plastic bottle, drop it off, and receive a reusable bottle in exchange. Visitors can watch the sculpture take shape in real time and enjoy HOPE Hydration’s refill station.

The numbers tell the story: Americans discard 60 million plastic bottles every day, nearly 700 every second. The 2,500 bottles in Cole's sculpture would be gone from the waste stream in under four seconds.

On Saturday, April 25th, Brooklyn Org will host its annual Brooklyn Org Volunteer Day, bringing together residents and community partners across the borough for a day of service during National Volunteer Month. The brand will give the gift of better breath to one lucky dog in NYC. The winner will be selected at our first-ever Worst Dog Breath Competition in Washington Square Park on May 3rd, 11:30 a.m. by a panel of judges (to be revealed - but let’s just say their noses are well prepared for the task!)

Be a part of the excitement as Primark celebrates NYC flagship store opening!  Primark will be rolling out a packed schedule of fun for New Yorkers.

Shoppers can join Primark on May 8 at the Grand Opening, with doors opening at 10 a.m. ET to greet shoppers with a ribbon cutting, music and giveaways for the first people in line.

In addition, the brand is hosting a Block Party at Herald Square Plaza to extend the celebrations beyond the store footprint. Block Party festivities are free and open to the public, kicking off at 10:30 a.m. through 6:00 p.m. ET.

Attendees can enjoy photo opportunities, live music spun by DJ Luna Rósa, NYC sweet treats, lattes and pup cups from Joe’s Coffee, and they can grab a stylish ride from branded pedi-cabs. Promotional giveaways will be offered while supplies last. See you there!  

The Sarabande Foundation — founded by Lee Alexander McQueen — is returning to The Standard, High Line this spring with the third edition of What Now?, a free, career-launching event for emerging creatives from 10AM-7PM on May 8th.

Building on the momentum of last year’s sold-out program, What Now? connects students, recent grads, and career changers with leading voices across fashion and the creative industries for one-on-one mentoring and real-world guidance. Participating brands this year include Marc Jacobs, Khaite, and J.Crew, offering direct access to insider advice on breaking into the industry.

The event speaks to a timely question facing the next generation of talent in how to navigate creative careers that rarely follow a linear path. Attendees will leave with personalized feedback, industry insights, and a digital “Aid Pack” designed to sharpen portfolios and guide their next steps.

Stella Blue’s Band is excited to announce the seventh annual Free Dead in the Park concert to benefit Riverkeeper, presented by The Capitol Theatre and Friends of Free Dead in the Park.

Following in the footsteps of the Grateful Dead more than 50 years ago, Stella will take to the same stage at the Naumburg Bandshell in Central Park in New York City at 4:30pm on Tuesday, May 12, for two sets of music to raise awareness and funds to help clean up and protect the Hudson River and its ecosystem.

Park Avenue Day 2026 will take place on Saturday, May 16th from 10AM to 6PM along Park Avenue (34th–40th Streets), transforming the avenue into a pedestrian-only celebration across all three west-side lanes.

Organized by the Murray Hill Neighborhood Association, the event is expected to attract tens of thousands of attendees and featuring 200+ vendors spanning art, fashion, food, shopping, and more, bringing together residents, businesses, and visitors for a vibrant day of community, culture, and entertainment.

Over 20 museums and several neighborhood partners are once again coming together for the 48th annual Museum Mile Festival, New York City’s biggest block party, which will take place, rain or shine, on Tuesday, June 9, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Festival attendees can walk Museum Mile along Fifth Avenue from 82nd Street to 110th Street, enjoying free admission at participating museums that are open during the event, and experiencing a wide range of outdoor programming, performances, and activities presented by some of New York City’s leading cultural institutions.
