Join the Queens Museum in celebrating Lunar New Year 2026 at the Queens Museum as the New York Chinese Cultural Center (NYCCC) proudly returns with its signature program to welcome the Year of the Horse.

Experience the magic of traditional folk dances, vibrant cultural performances, and engaging hands-on activities. Enjoy a captivating showcase featuring professional artists alongside talented students from NYCCC’s community partners. Discover your creativity through Chinese calligraphy and ink brush painting workshops led by the NYCCC, as well as family-friendly crafts hosted by the Queens Museum Education Team. Don’t miss this joyful celebration of culture, heritage, and art!

1:00pm to 2:00pm: Performance Program by the professional and student performers from the New York Chinese Cultural Center
2:00pm to 2:45pm: Calligraphy Workshop by New York Chinese Cultural Center. RSVP required for this workshop
3:00pm to 3:45pm: Ink Brush Painting Workshop by New York Chinese Cultural Center. RSVP required for this workshop
2:00pm to 4:00pm: Family Workshops: Join us for a fun and engaging family workshop celebrating the Year of the Horse! Designed for participants of all ages, this hands-on activity invites families to come together and explore the cultural significance of the Chinese Lunar New Year. Guided by Teaching Artists from Queens Museum, attendees will be able to craft and create. No advance registration is required and families can engage in this 15-20 min activity on a first come first served basis. Children must be accompanied during art-making by families or caregivers.
