Spirit Airlines is kicking off the holiday season with a giveaway in the heart of New York City. On, December 16th, the carrier will host its “One Day Power Hour 100-Ticket Giveaway Holiday Extravaganza” and turn Times Square into a massive, interactive sweepstakes event.
Beginning at 6:00 PM ET, Spirit will take over more than 10,000 square feet of digital signage at 5 Times Square to give away 100 round-trip flights through a rapid-fire QR code challenge.
Over the course of one hour, the billboard will cycle through 100 unique QR codes. Each will be linked to an entry form for a chance to win a round-trip ticket to one of a dozen destinations. The rules are simple: the first person to scan each appearing code has the chance to claim that flight. The opportunities continue until all 100 have been revealed.
