The Summer Passport Pop-Up, a free afternoon of food "that crossed oceans and changed the American table."
NYC food makers serving dishes inspired by the Caribbean, Latin America, Africa and Asia (think doubles, arepas, banh mi, samosas, aguas frescas), plus music from across the diaspora. Guests get a passport stamped at each food stop.
Co-hosted by Tamarind Heads, the Brooklyn BBQ sauce maker whose tamarind-based sauce Southern Living called "the one barbecue sauce I'll be using all summer long," and Intelligent Mischief, a Black creative studio.
Saturday, June 27, 2:00 to 6:00 PM, 47 Thames St, Brooklyn.
