Waltz into Space with Vienna in Bryant Park on May 31!
Vienna invites you to join the Public Screening of this historical WALTZ INTO SPACE concert on May 31, 2025 at Bryant Park.
One of the most iconic music pieces from Vienna – composed by the King of Waltz Johann Strauss II is The Blue Danube Waltz. Although The Blue Danube Waltz is considered the unofficial anthem of outer space, it was left behind on earth when the Voyager Golden Records were sent into the cosmos in 1977. We want to correct this mistake as a gift to mark the 200th anniversary of Johann Strauss II’s birth.
Be part of history and watch the Wiener Symphoniker perform an exclusive space concert followed by the transmission of The Blue Danube Waltz to deep space towards Voyager 1. The transmission will be carried out by the European Space Agency's Deep Space Antenna at Cebreros, Spain.
