The Bee Conservancy invites you to the 4th annual World Bee Day festival — a FREE family-friendly day that celebrates the 20,000+ bee species that pollinate 80% of the world’s flowering plants!
Join to discover the fascinating world of ground- and cavity- nesting bees and the buzzy universe of honey bee hives. Learn how to build sustainable pollinator habitats, collect bee data to advance science, and everyday actions you can take to save the bees.
This year, the World Bee Day festivities are at the Colonels Row Lawn on Governors Island. Get ready for fun, educational activities including a look inside a honey bee observation hive, a pollinator walk, a seed ball making station, community science projects, honey tastings, a community art project, and more! Activities for kids will include storytime readings of our comic book “Bee a Buddy,” face painting, and nature crafts. Luxuriate and picnic with loved ones in our lounge oasis.
Enjoy complimentary gift bags and goodies from Zarbee's, on a first come, first serve basis.
