Amika: Crowns in Bloom
About this event
amika presents Crowns in Bloom: Celebrating Hair in Contemporary Art, a contemporary art exhibition curated by Auttrianna Ward as part of New York Art Fair Week. Bringing together an intergenerational group of artists across painting, sculpture, photography, installation and film, the exhibition explores hair and its connections to identity, beauty, race, gender, power and belonging. Rooted in amika’s belief that “All Hair Is Welcome,” Crowns in Bloom celebrates hair as a powerful form of creative expression. The exhibition is organized across four thematic pillars—Hair as Medium, Hair as Play, Hair as Landscape and Hair as Ritual—inviting guests to experience hair through new artistic and cultural perspectives.
