On Saturday, April 25th, Brooklyn Org will host its annual Brooklyn Org Volunteer Day, bringing together residents and community partners across the borough for a day of service during National Volunteer Month. This borough-wide event connects Brooklynites with outstanding local nonprofits hosting family-friendly volunteer opportunities throughout the day—from food distribution and urban farming to park beautification, advocacy, and community resource support. Volunteers will work alongside nonprofit leaders and learn firsthand about the organizations strengthening Brooklyn’s neighborhoods.
Participants will receive a complimentary Brooklyn Org volunteer t-shirt and gain insight into the day-to-day work of Brooklyn’s nonprofit sector.
Volunteer opportunities will take place at several Brooklyn nonprofits, including 2026 Brooklyn Org Spark Prize winners and other community partners such as Mixteca, Asiyah Women’s Center, YVote, The Campaign Against Hunger, Red Hook Initiative, The B.R.O. Experience Foundation, CHiPS, Surveillance Technology Oversight Project (S.T.O.P.), Sure We Can, and Black Trans Femmes in the Arts. To register for volunteer opportunities, visit the link below.
