Warner Bros. Discovery is honoring Jon Favreau’s “Elf” with the first annual celebration of “December the TwELFth.”
The Will Ferrell-led holiday film was originally released on Nov. 7, 2003, co-starring James Caan, Zooey Deschanel, Mary Steenburgen, Ed Asner and Bob Newhart.
On Dec. 12 the festivities will begin at noon with a special performance from “Elf the Musical” in New York City’s Times Square. Throughout the day, fans are able to enjoy the one-day pop-up of “Elf” photo ops, shopping and opportunities to write to Santa Claus.
Also, “Elf” will be returning to theaters on the same day, with a new “Buddy’s Sing & Cheer Edition” that includes on-screen lyrics, trivia and visual gags.
