About this event

The Format’s Saturdays In The Park (NYC iteration) at Prospect Park is this Saturday, October 10.

The Format, who were very influential in indie rock in the early aughts before singer Nate Ruess formed Fun with Jack Antonoff, returned after nearly 20 years with a new album in January. They are beloved and for good reason - Nate’s Spotify alone has 20M+ monthly listeners, and they’re playing headline shows at Radio City and the Hollywood Bowl!

As a part of their return, they wanted to walk the talk on the anti-establishment, community-first ethos they were built on. Thus, they are using their tour to create Saturdays in the Park - free, open-air community, all-ages events that involve some acoustic sets, organizer speeches, food drives, voter drives, information booths.

The band also recently released “The Bar Is Set So Low” - a song to raise funds for four immigrant advocacy groups. It’s a song they wrote while making the new album and then finished and released after the killing of Alex Pretti in Minneapolis.
