The Longest Pastry Table
About this event
Every fall, the NYC Marathon brings runners and communities from across the world together. This year, we are bringing that spirit of connection with The Longest Pastry Table, a free community carb-loading potluck that will transform Driggs Avenue into one long communal table.
Created in partnership with North Brooklyn Parks Alliance and The Longest Table, the event will bring together run clubs from all five boroughs, local businesses, and neighbors to share food and celebrate community. Everyone is invited to bring a pastry to share, pull up a chair, and connect with someone new, whether they're running the marathon, cheering from the sidelines, or simply love good food.
The event draws inspiration from The Longest Table, a nonprofit initiative founded in 2022 to combat social isolation by bringing neighbors together over a shared meal. Since then, the concept has spread to communities across the country. Now, for the first time, it's coming to North Brooklyn for NYC Marathon week, bringing hundreds of New Yorkers together around a shared table in the lead-up to the city's biggest running event.
