Try Skating for Free with U.S. Figure Skating at Wollman Rink!

Join U.S. Figure Skating on Sunday, February 8, for a special Try Skating for Free event at the iconic Wollman Rink in Central Park in New York City. This exciting day on the ice features a chance to meet Olympian Mirai Nagasu, enjoy a free skating lesson, and cheer on a local skater exhibition at 12:00 p.m.

For Kids (Ages 5+)

Meet Olympian Mirai Nagasu & Try Figure Skating 12:10–12:40 p.m. A free introductory lesson designed for young skaters of all experience levels. Experience options include:

  • First‑time skater

  • Can skate forwards

  • Can skate forwards & backwards with confidence

  • Capacity: 40 children

 

For Adults (18+)

Glide & Flow with Olympian Mirai Nagasu 12:50–1:15 p.m. A free on‑ice session focused on movement, flow, and confidence. Prerequisite: Must be comfortable skating forwards (no beginners) Capacity: 30 adults

Come skate, learn, and celebrate the joy of figure skating in one of the most iconic rinks in the world. This event is free and open to the public—a perfect winter outing for families, fans, and anyone curious about the sport.
