Cat Chow Therapod

Cat Chow is launching a mobile “Therapod” across New York City from October 8–10 (in time for World Mental Health Day), offering students relief from screen fatigue and daily stress by giving them a chance to spend time with therapy cats.

The only catch? They must temporarily turn in their phones for admission.

With 83% of Gen Z reporting an unhealthy attachment to their phones and student mental health in crisis, a surprising source of healing has emerged: cats. In fact, research shows that just 10 minutes with felines measurably reduces cortisol in students.

Anyone can participate in the Therapod activation but the brand is prioritizing students for reservations. See below to register!

Therapod Schedule:

  • October 8 | 12:00–6:00 PM ET High Line Gansevoort Plaza, Meatpacking District

  • October 9 | 10:00 AM–4:00 PM ET 100 Washington Square East, near the NYU Silver Center for Arts & Science (between Waverly Place and Washington Place)

  • October 10 | 10:00 AM–4:00 PM ET W 60th St & Columbus Ave, Upper West Side (near Fordham University)
